How a chance round of golf led to a profitable business partnership
The core of what CMF does is build relationships and partnerships. They work to understand goals and challenges. CMF offers solutions based on decades of experience in manufacturing. This is a story of how Bruce Maupin and Jon Anderson of CMF met the CEO of Golf Pad Inc. and how that led to triple digit revenue growth for the Seattle area start-up.
By chance, Bruce, Jon and Konstantin were paired up for a round of golf. As golfers first meeting often do, they engaged in some small talk.
Bruce explained that his business, CMF Industries, helps companies source and manufacture components.

“As it happens, I may need your help.” Konstantin said.
Konstantin and his team of engineers had a vision for an Near Field Technology (NFC) tracking tag. It would become an integral piece of their new business. They talked about it for the rest of the round. That was the beginning of a years-long business relationship with CMF. CMF has helped Golf Pad become a leader in the world of game tracking technology.

Getting started: How CMF works with new manufacturing clients
CMF and Golf Pad met to discuss the design idea. These initial conversations are critical to helping businesses proceed in the most efficient way. Understanding the end goal allows CMF to see the big picture. Then, CMF can offer process suggestions to help businesses accomplish their goals.
CMF and Golf Pad discussed important characteristics required in operation. CMF shared ideas for how to accomplish them. At the conclusion of these first discussions, Golf Pad had enough information to make key decisions and CMF began the manufacturing process.
CMF supplies as much information as possible for new customers. They work to give every customer the details to be confident that they will receive components that fit their requirements. CMF takes care to supply components specified by our customer’s purchase contract.
Design and Manufacturing Process
CMF started the process of design and manufacturing with one of their vetted network of manufacturers. Within a few short weeks, CMF provided Golf Pad with the first components for inspection. Golf Pad provided approval before launching full-scale production.
With every client, CMF confirms the design and provides samples of production parts. Taking this extra step ensures the client’s investment is cost effective and quality controlled.
End-To-End Supply Chain Solutions
CMF proved itself a dependable supplier of Golf Pad’s new NFC tracking tags. Konstantin asked if we could help with other aspects of their product. Of course, we talked some more about the “end game.” Once again, knowing where he needed to end up allowed us to offer solutions that might not have explored otherwise.
CMF now delivers turnkey service to Golf Pad Inc.
They provide the components, assembling, testing, packaging and shipping of Golf Pad products ready for retail sale. Konstantin and his staff can concentrate on marketing, sales and upgrades to their software now that their supply chain is in the trusted hands of the CMF team.
